Our office was in a bit of a slump with employees bickering, so we thought it may be a good idea to do Shout Outs for our co-workers. We had small slips for employees to fill out, we would give them shout outs for anything above and beyond; working with a difficult patient, pretesting a child, handling a complaint with ease. We also would put in silly comments: thanks for the cookies, appreciate you taking out the trash for me, etc. We had everyone read the Shout Outs they were giving out, then all of the Shout-Outs went into a weekly drawing. Each week the winner would receive a $50 Visa gift card. We kept all of the slips for the end of the month and told the team there would be a special prize at the end of September. We ended up giving the person that gave out the most Shout Outs 4 hours of PTO. **This was kept secret and was such a surprise for the employee that showed the most appreciation to her co-workers. Each week it was really nice to hear things that you did that others found thoughtful.
