In One's Own Words

Purpose: to write down at the creation of the exam appointment the patient's own words for appointment reason. The idea behind this is to repeat these words back to the patient at confirmation, at pretesting and during the exam. Patients like hearing their own words repeated back to them, rather than the typical doctor visit when the patient repeats themselves during each step of the visit between the front desk, the technician and the doctor. It makes patients feel as if no one is listening.

Goal: to record the patient's own words at least 80% of the time.
